Ceramics care advice
Our pieces are everyday objects, however, they are handmade products and therefore require more care than industrially produced ceramics. Although all the pieces are dishwasher and microwave-safe, you should take special care of them if you want to keep them for a longer time. Here are our recommendations for the best care of your handmade ceramics:Washing:
- Gently wash with soap and a soft sponge by hand.
- Clean promptly after use to avoid stains, especially if liquids have been sitting for a while.
- Unglazed parts may stain more easily; prompt washing can prevent this.
Temperature Care:
- To minimize the risk of thermal shock, let boiling water cool slightly before pouring into the item.
- Avoid placing the ceramics in extreme temperature environments.
Dishwasher Use:
- While dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to extend the lifespan of your piece.
Microwave Guidelines:
- Microwave use is possible, but the ceramic can become very hot—handle with care and avoid sudden temperature changes.
Food Safety and Crazing:
- All items are food-safe, coated with lead-free, clear glaze.
- High-temperature firing ensures vitrification, making the glaze non-toxic and robust.
- Crazing (fine cracks) may appear and can be exacerbated by strongly colored foods or liquids but does not affect food safety.
